How long will the old site remain accessible? I am just thinking
that for some of the orphaned boxes that appear to be MIA, if the
clues are deleted from the current (new) site, and the owner comes
along at some point in the future and would like to replace the box,
they might then be able to get the clues off of the old site, rather
than having to rewrite them.
Right now there is a link from the home page of the new site that
goes to the old site, but I would imagine that won't be there
forever. Just wondering what the plan is there?

If you go to the new site (www.letterboxing.org), there is a link on
the main page to go to the old site.

you can get there from the current site, just click on the line asking about
where the old site is. I used this last night to find a clue that was only
partially there and used to have an email address (listed as an abandoned
box). This helped a lot.

Also there are some boxes listed on the old site that were never
transfered to the new one. Will these disappear? (Good Dogs Need
Socialization by Dog is my co-pirate --- and Ruth Ann Zarhoff's boxes
are some examples.)

Nothing ever truly disappears on the internet :-)
But please, if anyone does know of boxes that were missed, do let the
webmasters know (you can email me off-list at judi@psychokiwi.org and I'll do
what I can). If the owner cannot be contacted and no adoptive parents come
forward to look after the box then it will disappear from the main database.
I'm sincerely hoping that there will be no boxes that are ultimately abandoned
and unloved. I'm sure there is a fairy godmother or godfather out there for
them all :-)
This is also a great oppotunity to purge the database of all those missing
boxes with missing owners.
Now lets get out there and get our A-counts up! (A=adopted) :-))
